Rose Marie "Kay" (Zonin) Komar

KOMAR- Rose Marie “Kay”, 87, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at Maple Heights Care Facility. Born December 26, 1938, in Johnstown, she is the daughter of John and Mary (Daloni) Zonin. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Jerome W. Komar; infant twin daughters, Leslie and Leann; son, David A. “Koogle” Komar; brother, John Zonin; sister, Louise White; and son-in-law, David Potts. Kay is survived by her loving children, Colleen Potts, Cynthia O’Connor married to Michael, and Caryn Knopp, all of Johnstown; grandchildren, Nicolette, Amanda, Timothy (Kaitlyn), Jessica (Ernie), Jennifer (Ben), Kacey, Madasan, Carmyne, and Sydnee; and great-grandchildren, Domanic, Hailey, Bailey, Gianna, and Waylon. Kay is also survived by her sisters, Carol Neff, Mary Akers, and Joann (Chuck) Goggin; brother, Andrew (Judy) Zonin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay loved spending her time caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed having Sunday supper with her family, cooking, baking, and playing Pinochle. Kay was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will truly be missed by many. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Maple Heights Health and Rehab Center for the amazing care they provided Kay during her time with them. Kay was a member at St. John Gualbert's Cathedral, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Very Rev. James F. Crookston. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc.
