Edwin J. Mikesic

MIKESIC - Edwin J., 84; Johnstown, passed away on January 31, 2026 at home.  Born November 29, 1941 in Johnstown, son of Matthew R. Sr. and Mary (Zahoran) Mikesic.  Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Rosemarie (Skubic) Mikesic; son-in-law, Christopher Miller; and brothers, Francis R. Mikesic and Matthew Mikesic Jr.  Survived by: children, Danette Miller, Eddie Mikesic (Traci), all of Johnstown; and Scott Mikesic (Carol) of Collegeville, PA; grandchildren, Lindsey Perry, Kaley Eckman (David); Nicholas, Matthew and Samuel Mikesic; and great grandchildren, Garza Perry and Rhys Eckman.  Also survived by his twin brother, George Mikesic of Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired Bethlehem Steel Corp. and Johnstown America Corp. Employee, and Plant Grievance Officer for Steelworkers Local 2635.  Edwin was also retired from the Greater Johnstown School Board, with over 24 years of dedication. He was a PIAA Wrestling and Basketball Referee for many years.  He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Gardening and the Outdoors.  A member of the C.F.U. Lodge #5. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Bernard Karmanocky, OFM.  Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.  Friends received Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Broad Street.
